Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Thank you for taking the time to learn about RISE’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This required training for every RISE employee will explore the barriers to supporting an inclusive culture, including implicit bias and microaggressions, and how you can challenge your own biases and support a healthy and productive workplace.

The training includes exploring some DEI topics, watching a few short videos, and taking some quick knowledge checks. At the end of the training, you will receive a certificate of completion. There will also be a link to additional resources if you would like to continue exploring DEI topics.

Course Objectives

  1. Learn what diversity, equity and inclusion mean and why they are important to the culture at RISE.
  2. Understand our own biases and how we can overcome them.
  3. Learn how microaggressions can negatively impact our colleagues and culture.
  4. Choose the actions you will take to support an inclusive culture.

FAQ

We estimate 45 minutes. It may take you a little more or less. This is a self-paced course. 

There are lessons, topics, and activities. Lessons are the steps. The material within each lesson is a topic. There are also activities built-in. The course is linear, and you will need to complete everything in each lesson before it allows you to move on using the next lesson button. Click the first bullet in the activity box to get started in the lesson.

We recommend using a computer to take the course. It will be easier to view the documents embedded into the pages.
